Wind has been our enemy at each of the last few parties!  What do you do when you client's party is outside and your tables are full of decor that ties the theme together and the wind just picks everything up and throws it around?

We improvised!  We filled decorative gable boxes with candy (just before Halloween so it was perfect!) and for yesterday's party we filled personalized cups with decorative duct tape.  It ended up being super cute, but boy did we fight! : )

Happy Sunday!

We woke up this morning feeling refreshed and excited that yesterday's party was a success!  It was one of the bigger parties this year with a little over 150 people in attendance and there were many parts that needed to come together and they did!

We will share pictures and more party details soon, but I had to send out a HUGE thank you to all of the vendors that helped yesterday.  Especially, Superior Party Rental!!!  You guys went above and beyond and we truly appreciate all your help!  You rock!!!

Love and Sugar Kisses...

As I mentioned in the last post, during the blog conference we met amazing and talented women.  We want to feature these ladies because they quality of work they create is amazing!

One bite of the Chocolate Covered Oreo she made and we were in love.  Not to mention, she has the sweetest personality.  Maria with Love and Sugar Kisses makes beautiful and delicious desserts.

Take a look for yourself...

The detail in Maria's work is incredible.  We recently ordered cupcake toppers and chocolate covered Oreos from her and everyone raved about the taste and the detail.  Please stop by and learn more!

Our Big News!

Inspiring Giggles was inspired by the laughter of children.   What a sweet sound ... especially those belly laughs! Celebrating a birthday is a BIG DEAL and we have been blessed to help celebrate so many of them with you and your little ones!  Thank you!
So are you ready for some BIG NEWS?

Alexis Campbell Event Styling and Inspiring Giggles have partnered and we are now one! To be perfectly honest, we are still figuring out all of the details ...but, both companies have now merged under the joint ownership of Campbell & Shah!

We are in the process of re-structuring our companies into one (can you hear the big WOO HOO's?) and between that and party planning we've been swamped.  But, that being said, we want to be sure to update our friends with the best information possible via our blog. We want to share parties we have done, highlight vendors and peers that you'd love, and give you a heads up on the newest trends in party planning.

In our endeavor to become effective bloggers, we attended a conference called Blog Fete and spent the weekend with women who have mastered blogging, planning, baking, etc.  We are talking "the cream of the crop!"  And we've learned so much (while sampling oodles of cupcakes and sweets...yummmm!)

So here's the first post ... and hear us loud and clear: we'll be meeting you here every week so come on back!!! But, before we sign off, we want you to know that the merger of Inspiring Giggles and Alexis Campbell Event Styling will mean that the scope of our individual businesses will soon be expanded to help you with any of your upcoming special events.

Thank you for being here!  We cannot even begin to tell you how grateful we are for your support!  The next few blog posts will share a lot of fun stuff, so stay tuned!

Moss Wreath Tutorial

We loved having our Fairy Party featured on Pizzazzerie!  Then Hostess with the Mostess did a featured detail post about our Moss wreath.  You've asked for the tutorial so here it is : )  And thanks for that because it forced me to finally get another blog post in! : )

All the items I used were purchased at Michaels:

I bought a 16" foam wreath circle

Hiawatha Moss

9" Letter

I used acrylic paint to paint the letter "G" pink and used left over artificial flowers to add decor on the "G".

I covered sections of the wreath with Aleen's Tacky Glue.  I'm sure spray glue would have been much easier but applying the glue is just my preference.  I sprinkled the moss on top of the glue and added more glue and moss to cover the wreath.  I let it dry overnight then went back and added more to sections that I felt weren't covered well.  This is extremely messy!  So be sure to use a plastic table cloth or garbage bag so you aren't cleaning moss up for days.

The hardest thing for me was getting the "G" centered in the wreath.  I used fishing line to secure the letter from the top and the bottom.  This took several tries.

Finally, I used green raffia to hang the wreath at the party.  It came out cute and with the baby's breath pom poms it was perfect decor above the food table.

: )  Enjoy!

Sticky Fingers

I started writing about organization and how I'll be dotting i's and crossing t's this Summer...but then sticky fingers (Lex, my 1.5 yr old) grabbed my mouse and ran, then ran back over and grabbed my mouse pad.  He's since dropped those and is playing with my floral tape.  I haven't a clue where he got that from. : )

Typing up a blog post takes forever with my little one's running around and though I've been waiting to post something fun like a tutorial for the wreath I just made or pictures of one of the recent parties I know that my good intentions will likely lead to another month without a here it is. : )

I'm grateful to be working on some parties, a new website, collaborations with amazing local talent, building SHAH HOUSE (the branch of our company that will style and plan adult and corporate events) and most importantly enjoying my family.

I hope you're all doing well!

Tuesday, May 8, 2012

Hello hello!  My it's been some time since I've posted.  And for good reason, PARTY PARTY PARTY! : )  So if you follow us on Facebook you know that for the last three weeks I've been immersed in planning decor details for a huge party.  There were 4500 tickets given out and they anticipated 3500.  It was certainly the largest party I've had the pleasure of being a part of.  The party was this past Saturday and it was great! Yippie!!!!

Well, with that corporate party, parties coming up and conversations about more parties it got me thinking.  When I started Inspiring Giggles last year I really wanted to focus on children's birthday parties but I'm thrilled to share that we will now be expanding our services.  : ) Inspiring Giggles will remain our children's birthday party planning company and SHAH HOUSE will be our Event Styling and Planning company.  Thank you to all of you who have been so incredibly supportive!  I truly appreciate it!

The EASIEST craft and my daughter loves it!

So my little girl (Ella) and I have our "craft time".  We string beads on ribbon, or paint, or do the foam sticker art, etc.  The other day she was playing with Dora dance stickers and so I said lets "let's go make her dance"... I asked Ella to pick out her favorite and put it on card stock.  There's more than one of each design so we put the another of the same on card stock.  I cut them out and hot glued both onto a popsicle stick back to back.  Here's what it looks like...

Then I put the stick between my hands and rubbed back and forth (as though I was warming up my hands on a cold day) and it looked like she was spinning.  It was the easiest thing we've done and she love'd it.

Use what you've got...

When I saw the "Showered with Love" baby shower in Scrapbooks etc. I thought all the details were absolutely adorable, but I LOVE how Lisa Storms used a heart shaped punch to make rain!

Why bother cutting out drops by hand when you have a perfectly good punch willing to help!  I love these kinds of ideas!  Gotta use what we've got for tons of different things!  I have used my heart shaped punch to make flowers but this hadn't occurred to me.  How did I miss that? Very clever!

Read about all of Lisa's details...

I'm still around! : )

So, I just wanted to tell you all that I'm so sorry I haven't kept up with my blog posts recently!  I'm really trying to find my way on juggling my family, home, work and keeping all the social media's updated.  It's a lot! : ) My hat is off to all of you who do it all and make it look SO easy!  I've been updating Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest on a regular basis so please come visit me there, but I am still around the blogging world and vow to blog at least once a week!

So today's post is about my little ones, this includes my two kids and my dog (my third kid).  Well, being a mom is my first job and I adore it.  I truly love being able to enjoy every moment with them.  Ella, my daughter just started school and loves it.  Though I do not love all the cold's she brings back home.  Lex (short for Alex), my son is the second and I feel he gets shafted.  I don't read as much as I did with my daughter, we don't go to as many places, and we don't have as much alone time as I did with her.  So while Ella's at school he and I have been going to gym class, the park, etc.  And it's been really nice!  Today he chased a duck screaming "duck", "duck", "duck". : )  I know now that the days go by too quick and that they go from a tiny little thing to off and running.  My poor fur-child needs some attention too. So today we'll take a long family walk.

So til next week, we will rendezvous between diapers, dinner, Real Housewives, parties, and crafting!

Enjoy your day!

A fun game for Valentine's Day

So if you follow me on Pinterest you quickly learn that I adore the "Oh Happy Day" blog.  So incredible!  I found this fun post of "Fortune Balloon Garland" and I loved it. I thought it could be a fun game for Valentine's Day.  I will have to upload pictures of our Vday tomorrow, but a fun game we're playing tonight is "find your Valentine's Day gifts" using the fortune balloon garland.  I hid small gifts for our kids and put a note in red balloons and tonight we'll be popping them and will watch our little one's run around looking in the places noted.  If you need a last minute plan....this is super easy and cute.  Our daughter likes to pop the balloons so this will get her going.  : )  Here are some pictures from, but visit them for the DIY instructions.
